Each line is a range because which part turns out to be at fault decides where inside it a job lands, and that is settled by the diagnosis rather than over the phone. Once it is settled you are given one figure covering parts and labour, you agree to it before any work starts, and the $89 you have already paid for the visit comes off it. Nothing is ordered until you have said yes, and the number does not move afterwards.
Set against that, a comparable professional range, before installation and ventilation work, costs $8,220–$16,970. On this island the appliance is usually set into millwork built around it, so replacing one is rarely only the cost of the appliance.

Electric cooktop losing one element at random. Two other people had told me to replace the unit. He found a burnt connector at the terminal block and rebuilt it properly instead.

Induction hob cut out under load and showed a fault. He identified the inverter quickly and it has been fine ever since. The part took a week to arrive, which is hardly his doing.

Induction element shut down with a fault code every few minutes and I assumed the whole cooktop was finished. It was a cooling fan behind the inverter. Careful with the stone surround throughout.
